10-Day No Added Sugar Reboot

I created the 10-Day No Added Sugar Reboot because I have gone to both extremes with my relationship with sugar - addition and elimination. When I was struggling with sugar addition, I wanted the magic solution to fix my problems. Nothing really worked while cleanses and diets only made it worse.

My dream was to create a program that was accessible to everyone, didn’t include guilt tripping or fear mongering and actually felt good to be a part of. Basically, I created what I needed all those years ago when I was sitting on my kitchen floor, crying tears of overwhelm and frustration.

Sugar is one of the most difficult foods to remove from your diet. Not only does it make everything taste better, found in most everything, not to mention, it is always there for you (for the good times and the bad).

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

You may have some questions, here are the most Frequently Asked Questions

What does ‘No Added Sugar’ mean?

Added sugars are any sugars that are not naturally occurring in the food you’re consuming. So fruits and vegetables are okay to eat while added sugars found in processed foods, sweet snacks, sodas, sauces, granola bars, yogurt, creamers products and countless other processed foods. We will be avoiding  sugars like white or brown sugar, corn syrup, and dextrose as well as natural sugars like coconut sugar, maple syrup, and honey are what we are avoiding.

Added sugars also refer to sugar added into baked goods. For example, banana muffins made with just bananas as the sweetener does not contain any added sugars whereas banana muffins made with bananas and maple syrup would contain added sugars because of the maple syrup.

I am gluten free, dairy free or vegetarian, will the recipes work for me?

You are in luck! All of the recipes are gluten free and dairy free, with the option of adding dairy if desired. If you are vegetarian, I encourage you to sub your favorite protein for a meatless option.

Is this a big time commitment?

The choice is yours! Each weekday I post a video that is 5 minutes or less that I encourage you to watch to explore your relationship with sugar. Anything above and beyond that is up to you. You can participate in the group as much or as little as you feel comfortable.

Can I still eat carbs?

Yes, a low sugar diet does not mean you cannot eat carbs. It can be beneficial to stay away from simple carbs, however during this week we are not avoiding them. As you learn where sugars hide you will inadvertently be reducing certain simple carbohydrates.

Will I lose weight?

Although weight loss is not the goal of cutting out processed sugars it is often a side effect.

I am addicted to sugar, I don’t know if I can go a week without it.

Cutting out added sugar is difficult, but I believe you can do it! Give yourself the chance to do something incredible for yourself and your body. You won’t be going through this alone.

I am currently seeing a doctor for a medical condition, can I still do the Reboot?

Many people benefit from reducing their sugar intake, however if you are pregnant, nursing, or seeing a doctor for a medical condition, consult with them to make sure this is the right option for you.
